I have a leaky valve on my inflatable (XM 260) . Can you get spares
and how difficult would it be to fit
Cheers

I expect it is possible to get spares, but it might not be all that
easy. Some chandlers stock them, but they may need to be ordered
specially.

You might not need to get a spare, though. You may simply need to
take the existing one out, clean and lubricate it, and put it back in.
Some grit may have got in which prevents it sealing properly.

Your repair kit should contain, apart from patches and glue, a
special plastic spanner for just this purpose.

Boat show stands are a good place to ask this sort of question. It happens to be
the right time of year too.

Talk to Jim - ***@dinghyandrib.co.uk I was stuck for a valve this summer
and the dinghy makers had changed valve type and Mailspeed couldn't supply
one. Jim identified it from photo and sent new one out to Portugal for me,
excellent service.

You will need the valve tool (you may have one in the dinghy repair pack)
deflate the dinghy and grip the backing nut through the fabric and unscrew
the valve. Keep hold of the backing nut and screw new valve into it. I
found it impossible to remove the old nut or get a new one through the hole
so, getting the correct valve is a must - some look the same but have
different threads.

Graham.

I did my Avon Redstart (Hypalon) a couple of years ago, replacing all
the perished A4 valves with new A7 ones, getting the parts from
Polymarine (http://www.polymarine.com/index.cfm). At the time, I
wondered if it would be OK, but as a repair attempt was cheaper than
replacement, I gave it a go and have had no problems since. I don't know
if they do parts for your XMs materials, but my experience shows repair
is possible.
